FEDERAL PROJECTS

Hanscom Air Force Base, Bedford, Massachusetts

Between 1992 and 1994, RDG performed 13 separate projects at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts. In all more than 125,000 s.f. of architectural and engineering renovation and new construction were designed with a total value in excess of $6.8 million.

Projects included the design of backflow preventers at 14 buildings, renovation of a building for an electronics laboratory and offices, analysis of the main steam and chiller plant to determine billing rates and subsequent design of the fuel oil system and energy recovery system for the main steam plant, fire alarm, kitchen hood and sprinkler upgrades in 12 buildings, review of the heating plant for capital improvements, design of DDC control systems and HVAC upgrade in five buildings.

Also provided were a new penthouse infrared observatory and laboratory space, a complete new laboratory in Building 1128, mailroom renovations, a new officers club including three function rooms and two kitchens, design of pharmacy, and a new 1200 amp switchgear for the research facility located in Building 1614.

Veterans Administration Medical Center, Boston, Brighton and Brockton, Massachusetts

Rowe Design Group has assisted the VA at three facilities in the Boston area. In-depth services at the Brockton, Massachusetts included code compliance, nurse call, and fire alarm systems for a 20-building long term care complex.
