Rowe Design Group has served municipal clients on many projects. Our expertise in historic rehabilitation and with the requirements of the Massachusetts Architectural Access Board has put us in high demand with municipalities needing to update historic town structures to meet modern code requirements and increased space needs while maintaining the historic ambiance of their facilities.

Parlin Library, Everett, Massachusetts

RDG oversaw the exterior renovation of this charming, historically significant city library. The entire building was repointed, exterior masonry details were restored and preserved, and a new roof was installed, maintaining the original slate construction.

RDG specializes in the sensitive restoration of town halls. Handicapped accessibility poses a special problem for these grand, historic structures as the 100 year old+ designs rarely accommodate modern requirements for corridor width or elevators. Providing up-to-date mechanical and electrical systems while retaining authentic period details is also a challenge, one which RDG has met on more than one occasion through the installation of ductwork or wireways through or above restored historic details.
