WINCHESTER TOWN HALL

 

 

A complete interior and exterior renovation was completed in 1989 for Winchester's historic town hall. The building is 32,000 s.f. and total cost was approximately $5.0 million. The work included programming, historic preservation including original details, roof restoration and masonry re-pointing, upgrade of mechanical and electrical systems, handicap accessibility including an elevator, departments with public and private areas as well as meeting rooms, auditorium, two security vaults, all new furnishings, and a presentation to Town Meeting.

Rowe Design Group Inc. provided all architecture and engineering for the project. Out of $380,000 budgeted for change orders, only $60,000 was spent with $30,000 of that amount put back into the work when the project came in under budget
